Totally Google-less!!

There was a contest I'd come to hear of,
Said, "Life without Google", full stop.
That had me thinking, "Damn! That’s gonna be tough"
And they expected it in a blog, to step it up.
Bad enough that we hold on to the site for dear life,
To make us sound like we know everything, when we don't - a jibe.

The fact that our lives have changed from digital nothingness,
To being dependant on this technological awesomeness,
Who would have thought that the day would come,
When voluminous encyclopedias would make people run,
Away from it, and seek sanctuary under the online umbrella,
That is so appropriately named - Wikipedia!

Google has become a part of our lives - obviously,
An endeavor at sating our thirst for knowledge - insatiably,
There are dissenters to this concept, understandably,
But none can actually deny its importance, conscientiously.
Because, it has been deep rooted in our minds - subconsciously,
No matter how much we try to distance ourselves from it - however vehemently.

That being said, I thought I'd give it a try and see how it spins,
To live, independent, and do things on a whim,
Without having to go back to see the latest doodle,
Having it give me suggestions, even before I post my question - befuddled
I tried my best, to best the system and come out on top,
victorious,To stand up and say, I challenged and conquered - triumphus!

Alas, my friends, for this was not to be,
Despite my best attempts, succumbed and fell in a heap.
The very first day, lost, I resorted to Google Maps to give me a lead,
My Blackberry hummed and buzzed for emails coming in speed,
Google Talk and Gmail were laughing at me on my face.
So much for trying to live as a digital celibate.

I was left stranded and totally Google-less!

Cheers,Aamen
